Nik is from Haiti and moving to America to go to school.  He is excited to meet his new family, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a dog.  He is very scared to leave Haiti.  
Nik was scared on the plane but loved seeing the big city lights.  He liked his new home, it was bigger than hes ever seen.  The washing machine and dryer was very scary to him because he had never seen one before.  His dog Luna was sweet and friendly.  All of the food is very different.  He didn't like ice cream or cake but he loved spaghetti and pizza.  Nik was both excited and sad at bedtime. He's never had a room or a bed to himself so it was a little scary.  His new mom stayed with him until he was ready for sleep.  As he lied there alone, looking at the stars in the sky, he wasn't scared anymore because he knew his family in Haiti was looking at the same stars.

Page 7: "Everyone makes mistakes," Jesus said gently. "But it's important to learn from them and try to be better."
Page 8: "So, washing our hands is still important?" Osh asked, wanting to be sure. "Yes," XL chuckled, "We need clean hands and clean hearts!"
Page 9: Osh and Ish thought about this. They realized that being kind and choosing kind words was just as important as washing their hands.
Page 10: "From now on, I'll try to use my words to make others happy, not sad," Osh declared.
Page 11: "Me too!" Ish chimed in. "Let's spread kindness, not germs!" They all laughed.
Page 12: As they continued on their journey, Osh and Ish remembered Jesus' lesson. They learned that true cleanliness came from within, and that their words had the power to hurt or to heal.

Dax and the Kindness Lesson

På en solig dag i Regnbågsträdgårdens förskola är Fina Fjäril fylld med energi och bestämmer sig för att bygga ett hus av löv. När fröken ropar att det är dags att städa, inser Fina att hon inte har avslutat någon av sina aktiviteter och blir överväldigad. Hon vet inte hur hon ska hinna städa allt, medan de andra redan är klara med sina områden. Fina känner sig frustrerad och vill ge upp.

Då kommer hennes vänner till undsättning: Mio föreslår att de gör städningen till en hinderbana, Hubert spelar musik för att göra städningen roligare, och Gil hjälper Fina att städa ett område i taget.

Med hjälp av sina vänner klarar Fina av att städa allt och lär sig att man kan göra saker roligt och hanterbart genom att ta ett steg i taget. I slutet av dagen sitter alla tillsammans och njuter av fredagsfilmen, och Fina känner sig stolt över att ha avslutat alla sina uppgifter med hjälp av sina vänner.

2.  Yuēhàn read to John Jr that The Vietnam War was a long conflict in Southeast Asia. It began in 1954, after the country of Vietnam was split into two parts, North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North Vietnam wanted to reunite the country under Communism, its political and economic system. South Vietnam fought to keep this from happening. The United States helped South Vietnam, but North Vietnam won the war in 1975. Soon Vietnam was a united, Communist country.
The Vietnam War had a huge cost in human lives. More than 1.3 million Vietnamese soldiers and about 58,000 U.S. troops were killed.

In a small German town, Luzia spoke Hornjoserbšćina (Upper Sorbian) and loved her culture. She greeted her family, "Dobre rano, mama! Dobre rano, tato!" and enjoyed lužiski koláč (Lusatian cake) for breakfast. Luzia felt proud in her traditional kroj (costume) but sad when her friends didn’t understand her language. At school, her teacher, Pani Novak, taught in German. Luzia tried teaching Upper Sorbian to her classmates but found it challenging.

After school, she played in the luga (meadow), singing Sorbian songs. At home, she helped her babka make knedliki (dumplings) and listened to her děda's tales. She whispered "Dobru noc, swět" (Good night, world) each night, dreaming of preserving her culture.

One favorite poem was "Serbska Róža" (The Sorbian Rose). Luzia hoped for a future where everyone knew her language. As long as she spoke Upper Sorbian, it would live on.

John Jr and Jade wanted to be more authentic or real.

John Jr and Jade discovered that God doesn't make mistakes and since they were made by God that they were perfect the way they are.. they understood that being lwith a ack of self-esteem, fear of judgment by others, and a strong desire for others to be like was harmful at trying to be authentic.  John Jr and Jade decided to live life according to their own values and goals, rather than those of other people would help them be more authentic.
3.  Granny always tell John Jr an Jade to " Keep it Real" when they are not playing and have to be around others.  Granny explained that "Keeping it real" was when you try to Be True to Yourself, have Self-Awareness., Show Vulnerability, Admit Mistakes, Build Genuine Relationships, Practice Integrity, Value Others. By Being Non-Judgmental..John Jr and Jade started to be more authentic or real in their everyday life. 
3.  John Jr and Jade was going to self reflecti each night and be more acceptable of themselves to be more authentic in life.

AUTHENTICITY

1.  John Jr and Jade was learning about Jesus' teachings about honesty.   Jesus wants us to be  honest in our speech and keep our promises.  In 1 John 3:18 Jesus says 
 "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."  Jade told John Jr that they need to be truthful in their words and actions even when it is hard.  They decided they would Be more honest.
2. John Jr and Jade thought of times they were not honest.  John Jr told about a time he lied to his mom about getting in cookie jar before dinner.  John Jr ate 3 cookies before.  His mom knew he wasn't truthful since he had no appetite for his dinner.
3. Jade told about about a time he blamed someone else for something he had done.  Jade picked his neighbors flowers and blamed it on his friend Vixen to his neighbor.
4.  John Jr told Jade about the two commandments that says not to steal or not to lie.  John Jr decided they would practice being more trustworthy by being  straightforward, and not lying, cheating, or stealing.  Jade share Bible verse  Proverbs 12:22 "The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy."  Jesus taught people that the truth will set them free from slavery to sin, self-rule, and self-justification.  John Jr and Jade decided that it was very important to be truthful with God.  Jesus felt honesty was a gift and loved to be around plainspoken and honest people.  John Jr and Jade want to follow Jesus because he is the truth and speaks of the truth and love.
