Mrs. Vole is digging in the soft soil in the woods to make a home for her babies.  She does not like hard clay soil or sandy soil so she does not dig where they are.  She works hard to dig and make a new home near a pine tree.  She is tired and happy when she is finished because she knows that her family will be safe from Mr. Owl and Mr. Fox who want to eat them.  Mr. Vole knows how hard it is to dig because he digs too.  He pats Mrs. Vole on the cheek.  The Vole family will be happy and safe this spring.

The kids cheered and rushed to finish their snowman.

Outside, Kendrick Jr. and Anna-Louise worked on the snowman, adding a scarf and a carrot nose. Meanwhile, Kenton lay on the ground, making little angels in the snow. 'Look, I'm making a baby angel,' he giggled. Robin watched her children play and said, 'Aww, Kenton, that's so sweet.' Kenton then began to build a tiny snowman and proudly declared, 'Look, I'm making a baby snowman.'

After playing in the snow, the family went inside for hot chocolate and cookies. Robin pulled out a secret envelope while everyone sipped their drinks. Kendrick Sr. asked, 'Alright everyone, who wants to open the envelope?' The kids shouted, 'Me! Me! Me!' Robin smiled and said, 'Let's all open it slowly together.' As they opened the envelope, they saw a tiny card with big blue letters saying, 'It's A BOY!!!' The family hugged each other tightly, and Anna-Louise exclaimed, 'I'm having another brother!'

Ariana and Tanner saw Florence and instantly fell in love. Florence was tiny with green eyes and floppy ears. Florence was a little scared at first. She barked a soft good-bye to her old family. 

Florence whined a bit in the car. The ride was long, and she felt sleepy. She wondered what her new home would be like. When she woke up, she was in her new home.

At first, Florence was shy and a little sad. But Ariana and Tanner were very kind to her. They showed her around the house. There were lots of toys and even a ball pit. Flo wagged her tail and jumped in. 

Florence met new family members. Florence felt loved and happy. She realized she had a big family now. It made her feel special.

Ariana loved dressing up Florence. She had little outfits for her. She looked stylish and cute! Florence enjoyed the attention and posing for pictures.

Tanner loved music. He sang songs with Florence. She howled happily along and wagged her tail to the rhythm. They made a fun duet! It was their special time together.

Florence was not sure about baths at first. But she loved the snuggles after. Ariana wrapped her in a warm towel. Florence felt cozy and safe. She enjoyed the gentle rubs. 

Florence missed her old family sometimes, but she loved her new one. She had everything she needed and realized that family wasn’t blood. It was the people who loved you, and she was pawsitively happy and home.
