Meet Ellie and Max! Ellie loves basketball, and Max is crazy about football. Max, 1.5 years old, rides home from nursery with his father, as he does every afternoon. As always, he sits on his father's bike seat. Today, his father has forgotten Max's helmet, which has happened several times before On the way home, they stop at the bakery again. As Max's father finds it too difficult to unbuckle his bike, he parks it right in front of the bakery. He just wants to go inside quickly to buy a loaf of bread. As he orders inside, he hears noise outside and the bakery sales clerk screams and shouts that his bike has fallen over. His father runs out of the store and Max seems to have hit his head. Max looks dazed and barely reacts when his father rushes to him. He immediately takes care of Max, unstraps him and takes him in his arms. He looks desperate and asks the bakery assistant who has come out of the store to call an ambulance. While they wait for the ambulance, Max vomits several times. When the ambulance arrives and Max is placed on the stretcher, he briefly loses consciousness and a bleeding wound can be seen on his right temple. His father is completely distraught and cries bitterly. The paramedics calm him down and dress Max's wound, but he wakes up again and starts crying. The father is allowed to take the ambulance to the children's hospital. Max and his father are admitted to the hospital, where his score on the GIasgow coma scale for children is 9, confirming the diagnosis of moderate traumatic brain injury with bruising on the right. His wound can be taped and closed with terile adhesive wound strips (Steri-Strip@). A simple wound dressing is then applied, which is secured with a mesh bandage Max is very anxious the whole time he is being cared for, always seems absent, cries a lot and can hardly be calmed even by his father The nurses and doctors question the father about what happened and he provides information about Max's condition immediately after the fall.

The mule was going around and much bigger now. He loved to play and to spend time around his loving mother. However, it was getting colder and colder and the grass was no longer green and there was not a lot of food around. His mother gave him her share of the hay and the mule understood that he was truly loved and shared this with her to return that love. one day a bad man who was always angry came and took him away from his mother. This man would hardly let him eat and always worked him all day long with hardly giving him a break. The mule thought this man must not know what love is and was going to try to show this man what love is. For 3 days the mule would work and work and work. but it was never hard enough for the man wouldn't even feed him at the end of the day. The mule cried and was so very hungry and thought "how can I show this man what is love?" The man took the mule into town and piled a bunch of food in front of him to eat. there was another man there though. This man was holding a single piece of bread. At first the mule was confused with the choice. But something in that bread felt like his mothers love from a long long time ago. He was so shocked thinking how could this be? that he knelt in front of this bread he knew was the source of all love. Hoping this would show the mean man that love requires all of us to sacrifice sometimes. The man was so shocked that he knelt down in front of the bread too and he yelled with tears and joy that this must be God. For surely God must be love

Once upon a time, in a cozy burrow under a big oak tree, lived a little rabbit named Pip. Pip loved carrots more than anything in the world. He'd spend his days hopping around the garden, munching on crunchy carrots with a big, happy smile. One sunny morning, Pip's mom surprised him with a special treat: carrot cake! When the cake was baking, Pip hopped around the kitchen, sniffing the delicious smell. Finally, it was time to eat! The cake was even better than he remembered. Pip licked his whiskers happily. From that day on, Pip loved helping his mom bake carrot cake. Together, they made the best carrot cake in the whole forest! And every time they took a bite, they remembered the fun they had making it together.
