The Rise of Liam Rose Liam Rose first stepped onto the ice at age 4, and from that moment, he was hooked. Now 13, he plays for Moon Middle School and the Arctic Foxes as a defenseman known for his hard work. Despite his potential, Liam struggles with confidence, often questioning if he’s good enough. In the second game, tied late in the third period, Liam doesn’t hesitate. He dekes past the goalie and scores the game-winner. In the third game, Liam returns to defense, playing a pivotal role in shutting down the opposing team and advancing the Arctic Foxes to the championship. The final game is intense, but Liam seizes his moment. Late in the game, he finds himself open in front of the net and scores the winning goal. The Arctic Foxes become tournament champions, and Liam is swarmed by his jubilant teammates. As the team hoists the banner, Liam realizes he’s proven himself—not just to others, but to himself. Coach’s words echo in his mind: “You’ve got what it takes. You always have.” From that day, Liam knows hockey is more than a sport; it’s a journey of self-discovery and confidence.

I am Luca. I am four years old, and I just started Kindy. It is exciting, but also a little bit scary. There are so many new things—new teachers, new friends, and a big new playground! Every morning, my grown-up walks me to the Kindy room. Some days, I feel happy. Other days, I feel nervous and want to stay longer. When I feel worried, my tummy feels funny, and I want to cry. Mrs. Kubicek showed me the Zones of Regulation chart. She told me feeling worried is the blue zone, and that it is okay. To feel better, I can take deep breaths, press my hug button, or give a big hug before saying, “See you later!” When I miss my family, I remember that they love me always, and I will see them again soon when I get home. This helps me feel safe. When I get to the Kindy room, I put my bag, crunch and sip, and water bottle in their places. This helps me get ready for the day. Before Kindy starts, I can play with the trucks and puzzles. Sometimes, I do this with Mum or Dad before they say goodbye. That helps me feel braver. Recess and Lunch At recess, all the children go outside to eat and play. I feel nervous and stay near the wall. Mrs. Kubicek notices and says, “Luca, would you like to sit with Milani and Bodhi?” I nod. Milani and Bodhi smile and say, “Come sit with us!” That makes me feel good inside. I move into the green zone—calm and happy! Sometimes, I want to stay with Mrs. Kubicek at recess and lunch. But when she leaves, I feel sad. She reminds me that it is important to play with my friends. I take a deep breath, press my hug button, and find Milani and Bodhi. Once I start playing, I feel much better! At the end of the day, I pack my bag and sit on the mat. When I see my grown-up waiting, I run to give them a big hug. “How was your day?” they ask.I smile and say, “I played with Milani and Bodhi.” Each day, I feel a little braver. If I feel nervous, I can take deep breaths, press my hug button, or ask for help. Kindy is full of adventures, and I am ready for them all!

He no longer felt lonely because he knew that whenever he needed them, his classmates would be there for him at the Friendship Spot.

Monica has lots of adventures on the farm. He meets a cow, a sheep, a chicken, a dog, a cat, a duck. Eve rides a horse. He picks a carrot from the green garden. He admires a beautiful garden full of flowers and colorful butterflies and birds. Eve loves animals and nature.

Jax puts it on, and with a splash, he dives into the ocean, holding onto Ollie’s fin. Jax and Ollie swim through colorful coral reefs, meeting all kinds of sea creatures along the way. They encounter: A playful school of clownfish who invite Jax to play hide-and-seek in the anemones. A wise old sea turtle who tells Jax stories about the ocean’s history. A shy octopus who shows Jax how to change colors and hide in the sand. A group of dolphins who perform flips and tricks, making Jax laugh. Ollie takes Jax to a special underwater cave where all the sea creatures are having a party. There’s music (made by singing whales and clapping crabs), dancing, and even a seaweed cake! Jax is the guest of honor, and everyone celebrates his bravery and curiosity. As the sun begins to set, Ollie tells Jax it’s time to return to the shore. Jax says goodbye to his new friends, promising to visit again someday. Ollie swims him back to the beach, where Jax’s parents are waiting. When Jax looks back at the ocean, he sees Ollie’s fin waving goodbye. Jax runs to his parents, excitedly telling them about his adventure. They smile and listen, even though they think he’s just imagining things. But Jax knows it was real—he still has the magical seashell necklace as a reminder.

But Penny the Raccoon had another idea. “What if we try to befriend the weasels or help them find a place to live?” she asked. She reminded everyone that spending too much on defense—like when the animals once sent nuts and supplies to faraway lands—could leave them without enough for themselves. Big Bucks was persuasive. He convinced Maplewood to use almost all of their savings to build walls, just like in the Squirrel-Bird Dispute over Nut Valley, when they built forts and traps. Soon, Maplewood was pouring all its resources into Big Bucks’ projects. Penny noticed that things around town were falling apart. With so much money going to walls and gadgets, there was hardly anything left to fix schools, parks, or even make enough food! “What if we’re using up our savings on things that don’t help us every day?” she thought. Penny gathered everyone and shared her plan. “Instead of building walls, let’s work together and share what we have. The world needs peace, just like we learned in the Forest Unity Days!” She reminded them that when the animals had shared their food and tools, they had more than enough. As the animals talked and listened, they realized that the weasels weren’t all bad. They just needed help, too. Penny and her friends invited the weasels to work and play together in Maplewood, and soon they were all sharing the forest’s food and shelter. He used his skills to help rebuild schools, parks, and homes, seeing that Maplewood was stronger when everyone worked together.

Leo was a young boy who lived in a small town filled with high achievers.
