Sam and Ava see palm trees growing near a wide, flowing river. A friendly boy named Rami waves and says, “Welcome to the River Nile!” He shows them how people use the river water to help plants grow. Page 3 They walk along the riverbank and find tall reeds. Rami explains, “We use these reeds to make papyrus, a special paper for writing.” Ava gently touches the soft green stems. Page 4 Next, Rami leads them to a huge pyramid. It points high into the sky. “Pharaoh Khufu built this long ago,” says Rami. “Our people believe the pharaoh is very important.” Page 5 Inside the pyramid, they see stone walls covered with hieroglyphs, the ancient Egyptian way of writing. Pictures of birds, eyes, and shapes tell stories about the pharaoh’s life. Page 6 They quietly walk into a room with a sarcophagus, a big stone box that holds a mummy. “This mummy was once a great ruler,” says Rami. Sam and Ava feel a little scared, but also very curious! Page 7 At midday, they visit the busy market. People trade goods like wheat, dates, and cloth. “We use boats to carry our goods along the Nile,” explains Rami. Sam and Ava see bright, woven baskets full of fruit. Page 8 It is time to say goodbye. Rami waves. “Come again!” Sam and Ava open the magic book and zoom back home. Their hearts are full of wonder at all they have learned about Ancient Egypt.

Once there was a happy zoo owner named Mr. Wiggly, and his zoo was the best in the world. One day, a silly zoo owner named Mr. Bumble bought a very special animal from him: a giant Pink Gorilla! “This gorilla is amazing,” said Mr. Bumble. “But why are you selling it?” “Well,” said Mr. Wiggly with a twinkle in his eye, “because I have ONE important rule: Never, EVER touch the Pink Gorilla on his right shoulder.” Mr. Bumble promised not to touch it. Slowly, Mr. Bumble reached out his hand and… tapped the Pink Gorilla on his right shoulder. Suddenly, the gorilla stood up, roared, and started chasing him! “AHHHH!” Mr. Bumble screamed. He ran through the monkey house, over the giraffe field, and around the elephant pool. The Pink Gorilla stayed right behind him the whole time! Mr. Bumble jumped on a scooter, but the Pink Gorilla grabbed a skateboard and zoomed after him. He swam across a pond, but the Pink Gorilla grabbed a floaty and paddled right behind. Finally, Mr. Bumble stopped, out of breath. The Pink Gorilla leaned in close and said… “TAG! YOU’RE IT!” Then the Pink Gorilla laughed and sprinted back to his pen. From that day on, Mr. Bumble followed the rule: Never touch a Pink Gorilla’s right shoulder. You just might get a surprise!

John Jr decided they would practice being more trustworthy by being straightforward, and not lying, cheating, or stealing. Jade share Bible verse Proverbs 12:22 "The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy." Jesus taught people that the truth will set them free from slavery to sin, self-rule, and self-justification. John Jr and Jade decided that it was very important to be truthful with God. Jesus felt honesty was a gift and loved to be around plainspoken and honest people. John Jr and Jade want to follow Jesus because he is the truth and speaks of the truth and love.
