Page 1Once upon a time, in a 1975 gray Ford car, lived Z'Rica Chanell. She was a 10-year-old African American girl with dark skin, big brown eyes and two afro puff ponytails tied with cotton candy looking ribbons. Z'Rica lived with her mom, little sister, and baby sister. They didn't have a home, so the car was their house. The back seat was Z'Rica's bedroom, and she kept her few belongings in a suitcase. "Z'Rica, you have a special mission," it said in a low, rumbling voice. Z'Rica was surprised, but also excited. Her hair started talking back to the comb! Vedu yells, "What did you do?" 4. Colorful Planet: The rocket crash-lands on a planet with glowing trees and strange creatures. The boys step out cautiously. 5. Friendly Alien: A small alien with antennae waves. Vedu uses hand signals to communicate. 6. Alien Planet: The alien leads them to a magical city with floating buildings. Laddu says, "This is like a dream!" 7. Gravity Fun: Laddu discovers low gravity and jumps high. Vedu laughs, "Be careful!" 8. Time to Leave: The alien helps fix the rocket. The boys thank it and prepare to leave. 9. Goodbye Planet: They wave goodbye. Laddu says, "I’ll miss this place!" The rocket takes off. 10. Water Planet: They land on a water-covered planet. They dive to explore glowing fish and underwater cities. 11. Water Creatures: They play with friendly dolphin-like creatures. Laddu gets splashed, and they laugh. 12. Whirlpool Escape: A whirlpool pulls the rocket. Vedu steers it to safety. 13. Fiery Planet: On a lava-filled planet, they find glowing crystals. Laddu says, "These would look great on my shelf!" 14. Lava Creatures: Lava creatures guide them safely to the rocket. 15. Frozen Planet: On a snowy planet, they build snowmen and slide on ice. Laddu says, "I love this!" 16. Returning Home: After exploring, Vedu programs the rocket for Earth. Laddu says, "I can’t wait to tell everyone!" 17. Re-entry: The rocket returns to Earth. 18. Crash Landing: It lands with a thud. Laddu says, "One bumpy ride!" 19. Sharing Adventures: They share stories with friends. 20. New Idea: Vedu sketches a new rocket. Laddu dreams of their next adventure

Page 3: Miko is a bright (lively) and friendly meerkat. ( he loves popping and looking out of burrows to explore the Kalahari ) (Miko likes moving from place to place and can’t stay still!) Page 4: Lizzy is a clever lizard ( she loves to imagine about the stars in the sky so much that she sometimes forgets to listen in class ) whose mind never stopped racing. Page 5: Miko and Lizzy are different from their friends because they both have ADHD! Page 6: Miko struggled to stay still in class. He was always digging burrows and often got distracted during his How to Spot a Predator class. Page 7: Lizzy also struggled in class, she couldn’t focus on her sun safety class (she was easily distracted by the clouds in the sky and often forgot to take down her homework ) because of how fast her thoughts were moving. Page 8: (Miko and Lizzy struggled in class but their ADHD was an advantage!) After visiting Dr Wild, the Wildebeest, Miko and Lizzy learnt to do things that would help them to manage their ADHD. Page 9: Miko became the captain of the sand surfing team and had the fastest record in the desert! Miko was also top of his insect tracking class and created the first ever pair of insect spy goggles that could see different insect tracks and tells you what type of insect you are looking at! Page 10: Lizzy enjoyed stargazing so much that she was top of the class for astronomy and could name every constellation. Page 11: Even though Miko and Lizzy had some tough times with their ADHD, they both learnt cool tricks to help them feel better and do their best.

It was Thursday, and Mohan's class teacher announced a special potluck party for Friday to celebrate Janmashtami, which was coming up that weekend. She asked all the students to gather in a circle and placed a bowl in the centre. The bowl was filled with colourful chits, each one with the name of a different dish written on it. Excitement filled the classroom as each student took turns picking a chit from the bowl. Whatever dish was written on their chit was the one they needed to bring to the class party. Mohan's heart raced with curiosity about what he would get. With a mix of excitement and a little worry, he reached into the bowl, hoping that the dish he picked would be something his family could afford to bring to the party. As he slowly unfolded the chit, Mohan saw the word "K H E E R" written in big, bold letters. Mohan stood still in shock, knowing that preparing "Kheer" required costly items such as milk, sugar, and nuts that his family could not afford.

At the beach, Ruby and daddy can go for a swim but that there was big surf. Brandon shared stories with Barkley about their new house. It has a pool and a big back yard for them to play. Barkley was sad, he was going to miss all his neighborhood friends. He wondered if he would have any new friends at his new house. What if Brandon made new friends? What if the house was too small and there was no room for a puppy? Tomorrow was moving day and a new chapter for the family. Dad, mom, Brandon and Barkley jumped in the car and headed to the new house. The moving truck was right behind. As they pulled into the new neighborhood Barkley's eyes got big, it was a big house! Brandon and Barkley jumped out of the car as soon as dad pull into the driveway. They ran through the front door and stopped and looked at each other. Barkley began barking and running in circles, so much room to play!!!! As Brandon opened the back door Barkley ran and jumped in the pool!!! SPLASH! WOOF WOOF!! I love my new house!!!! Barkley stepped out of the pool soaking wet and he began to shake getting Brandon all wet. They laughed and Brandon gave him a big hug. You will always be my best friend Barkley!!!

Tonight, Dad will return home after a month working at the oil mining in the middle of the sea. Alika adored her Dad a lot. He is brave, strong and silly in her eyes.
