The kite even spotted an eagle soaring nearby. “Hello, brave kite!” the eagle said. “You’re flying like a champion!” By the end of the festival, Tim’s kite won a ribbon for “Most Spirited Flyer.” As the sun set, the kite whispered, “Thank you, Tim, for believing in me. I’m not afraid anymore.” Tim smiled, “We make a great team, little kite.” And from that day on, the kite never feared the sky again. The end.

The Vikings set up camp and built small houses to stay in. They spent the winter in Vinland, enjoying the fresh food and exploring the forests and fields. But as winter came to an end, Leif knew it was time to return home. He and his crew packed up their ship, and with one last look at the beautiful land, they set sail back home. Leif promised himself he would tell everyone about this amazing place he had discovered. When they returned home, Leif shared the story of Vinland with other Vikings. Even though he never returned to Vinland, he was proud to be the first European to find and explore it. And so, the tale of Leif Erickson and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean was told for many years. He showed everyone that with bravery, a strong ship, and a little bit of adventure, you could discover incredible new places, even ones you didn’t expect! And that is how the Vikings and Leif Erickson became the first Europeans to reach North America.

I was born in the auspicious old walled village, gazing at the lush green mountains in the distance and the meandering Wutong River, which made me feel the unique charm of this land from an early age. Our ancestors carefully chose this site and built sturdy high walls of blue bricks, which not only defended against pirate attacks but also provided a cool and pleasant shelter from the heat. Although the village gate is narrow, it serves its defensive purpose well, making it difficult for outsiders to invade easily. The ancient well beside the gate is a vital water source for the villagers, ensuring water security when enemies approach. As I walk into the village, the neatly arranged houses are hidden beneath the greenery, exuding an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The ancestral hall towers into the clouds, with dragon-head wood carvings and crane reliefs inside, showcasing the profound historical and cultural heritage of the Tang clan. During major festivals, the villagers actively participate, ringing the ancient bronze bell in unison, praying for the blessings of our ancestors. I especially love to visit the Tin Hau Temple, where after lighting an incense stick, I listen to the miraculous stories of the Goddess of Heaven and the Earth God, hoping they will bless me with safety and health. The nearby Chong Him Hall is also a favorite of mine, filled with countless memories from my childhood. Every time I step into this familiar historic site, I can't help but feel: I am so fortunate to be born in such a place rich in history and culture. I will study hard to inherit the wisdom of my ancestors, ensuring that this treasured land is passed down through generations and thrives.
