7-year-old Holly adventure to Nanny's. Nanny tells Holly about the subconcious. Nanny explains with a story. Think of your mind as a big castle. There are many rooms in this castle. Some rooms are where you do your thinking and playing, like when you solve a puzzle or play with your toys. This part of your mind is called your conscious mind. It’s what you use when you are awake and thinking about things. But there is another part of the castle that works quietly in the background, even when you’re not thinking about it. This part is called the subconscious. It’s like a magical room where all your dreams, memories, and feelings are stored. Your subconscious helps you remember how to ride a bike, how to tie your shoes, and even helps you feel happy or calm. It listens to everything you think and feel, even if you don’t say it out loud. If you think happy thoughts and believe in good things, your subconscious helps make those things happen. Just like happy thoughts bring good things, sad or angry thoughts can bring not-so-good things. If you keep thinking, “I can’t do this,” or “This is too hard,” you might feel upset and not try your best. Holly thinks its important to focus on the good and stay positive. John Jr showed Yuēhàn how to look stuff up on the internet. 2. John Jr discovered The Mexican–American War,, was an invasion of Mexico by the United States Army from 1846 to 1848. It followed the 1845 American annexation of Texas, which Mexico still considered its territory because it refused to recognize the Treaties of Velasco, signed by President Antonio López de Santa Anna after he was captured by the Texian Army during the 1836 Texas Revolution. The Republic of Texas was de facto an independent country, but most of its Anglo-American citizens who had moved from the United States to Texas after 1822 wanted to be annexed by the United States. 3. John Jr started to explain to Yuēhàn the key battles of the Mexican American War. Battle of Monterrey The first major battle of the war, which took place in 1846. Mexican forces were able to repel the first few attacks by U.S. forces, but eventually surrendered. Battle of Buena Vista A turning point in the war, as Santa Anna's decision to attack Taylor prevented him from reinforcing Vera Cruz. Battle of Cerro Gordo The First and Second Tennessee Infantry regiments distinguished themselves in this battle, which was the first of a series of American victories that led to the capture of Mexico City. Battle of Palo Alto The first major engagement of the war, which took place on May 8, 1846. The American army was able to defeat the Mexican army, despite the Mexican army being much larger, due to their superior weapons and training. 4. John Jr and Yuēhàn found out Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican War and annexed a large amount of territory to California.

“The Kind Monster” tells the story of Huggles, a big, furry monster with a kind heart who lives in the Misty Meadow. Despite his gentle nature, the animals fear him because of his large size and sharp teeth. Huggles longs to make friends but is constantly shunned. One day, he saves a mouse from a thorn bush, catches a bird's nest in a storm, and helps a fox stuck in a hole, showing the animals his kindness. Gradually, they realize Huggles is not scary but kind-hearted. Huggles and the animals become friends, playing together and helping each other. In a storm, Huggles even shelters the animals, proving that kindness is more important than appearance. The animals learn to embrace him and share his kindness with others, with the story ending on a message that kindness is about the good you do, not how you look.

Hi, I’m Karots, the Welsh pony, and though I may be a bit older now, I still have a mischievous streak! As a lesson pony, I spend my days teaching children not just how to ride but how to stay alert and on their toes! My mornings start like anyone else's—with breakfast, but don’t dare give me food I don’t like, or I’ll simply refuse to eat! After my meal, I play with my pony pals—biting, kicking, and running around wildly—it’s our favorite way to bond! Then, the real fun begins. I know when the children arrive, and I can’t wait to greet them. I like to test my new two-legged friends as soon as they put the halter on, by bolting out of the stall. Sometimes I run so fast I lift them right off their feet—what a ride! Of course, if they let go of the lead rope, it’s FREEDOM! I trot around like the star of my own parade, and the humans reward me with carrots and cookies for my stellar performance. Once they catch me, it’s time for the next round of fun in the arena. I make sure their ride is exciting—no boring trotting in circles for me! I prefer zig-zag patterns, spontaneous canters, and inserting my head or leg through the fence, just to make them squeal. I’ve also mastered the art of picking up branches, just to see how long I can hold on while they try to pry them from my mouth! Of course, after all that fun, I always end the day with good behavior. The children un-tack me, give me lots of scratches (the human version of chewing, I’ve learned), and most importantly, plenty of carrots. After all, carrots are a Karots’ favorite treat!
