Every Sunday night, little miss Ella would count her sweets to make sure she knew how many were left. One Thursday morning, Ella excitedly grabbed her jar. “Let’s see how many sweets I have today!” she said. But when she looked inside, she gasped. “Wait a minute! I had 12 sweets yesterday, but now I only see 8”. Ella scratched her head and started whining. “Where did my candy 4 candy go mommy?” Just then, Ella noticed her cousin June, sneaking out of her room with chocolate on her face. She thought for a second and said, “Hmm, I wonder if June took some of my sweets.” Ella followed June to the living room, where she saw her holding 4 of her chocolates. “Aha! That’s where some of my sweets went,” she said. “But I’m still missing more.” Ella went back to her room and looked under her bed. There she found her dog,Mocha, chewing on 2 of her reeses cups. “Mocha! You took 2 of my favorite candies!” Ella counted again. “Let’s see… I had 12 sweets. June took 4, Mocha took 2, and now I have 6 left. That makes 12!” Ella smiled and hugged June. “Next time, just ask before you take my sweets, Junie Poh!” she laughed. June grinned, chocolate still on her face. “Okay, Ella, I promise I’ll ask next time.” Then she looked at Mocha. “And you, no more sneaking my reeses cup from under the bed!” Mocha wagged her tail happily, and Ella gave her a big hug. With everything solved, Ella sat down and enjoyed one of her recess cups. “Now that I’ve found all my sweets, I can finally have one!”

Inside was a piece of paper with instructions. Following the paper, Adi arrived at an old church. It looked spooky, but he was brave! Inside, he found a big black vault that needed a secret code. He was nervous! The vault opened! Adi saw an old phone and a T-shirt. But where was the evidence? When he opened the T-shirt, it said “DAD TO BE.” Suddenly, the phone buzzed! It was Tara! “Congratulations, Adi! We’re going to have a baby!” she exclaimed. Adi realized it was a surprise! He stepped out and saw colorful decorations everywhere. All their friends shouted, “SURPRISE!!!” They celebrated their wonderful news and lived happily ever after!

In a small German town, Luzia spoke Hornjoserbšćina (Upper Sorbian) and loved her culture. She greeted her family, "Dobre rano, mama! Dobre rano, tato!" and enjoyed lužiski koláč (Lusatian cake) for breakfast. Luzia felt proud in her traditional kroj (costume) but sad when her friends didn’t understand her language. At school, her teacher, Pani Novak, taught in German. Luzia tried teaching Upper Sorbian to her classmates but found it challenging. After school, she played in the luga (meadow), singing Sorbian songs. At home, she helped her babka make knedliki (dumplings) and listened to her děda's tales. She whispered "Dobru noc, swět" (Good night, world) each night, dreaming of preserving her culture. One favorite poem was "Serbska Róža" (The Sorbian Rose). Luzia hoped for a future where everyone knew her language. As long as she spoke Upper Sorbian, it would live on.
