But where could the clue be? Then, he noticed a bar of soap near the mirror. The soap had a message written on it with foam: “Check the kitchen!” Sam quickly skated to the kitchen. He saw the dish cupboard and opened it. Inside, he found a clue hidden in a bowl. The clue read: “Your treasure awaits behind the curtain where you drink tea.” Sam knew exactly where to go next. He skated to the dining room, where a beautiful curtain hung near the window. Behind the curtain, he found a shiny tea pot. Inside the tea pot was a tiny treasure chest. Sam opened the chest and found a magical glass that granted wishes. Sam made a wish for endless adventures and a lifetime supply of chocolate! Aubree is a 4 year old girl from Oceanside, California. She lives with her mommy, daddy, and maltipoo dog named Paddington. Christmas is Aubree’s favorite time of year and she always eagerly awaits the return of her elves on “Sleigh Day,” her family’s special holiday each year on the day after Thanksgiving. They return to Aubree’s house from the North Pole on the morning of Sleigh Day, arriving in a giant red and gold sleigh, pulled by a giant toy reindeer Sven (the reindeer from Frozen). Aubree’s elves always bring her some gifts on Sleigh Day, usually some Christmas books, cozy pajamas, and a few Christmas themed toys to play with throughout the season. Each night throughout the Christmas season, Aubree’s elves fly back to the North Pole, then return to her home by the morning, always hiding in a different spot. Aubree’s elves are very mischievous and she loves searching for them every morning. Each Sunday throughout the season, her elves leave her a special card or letter along with a fun gift or activity to do with her family, like tickets to see The Nutcracker or to go to Legoland. Aubree’s family loves these special days and calls them “Elf Sundays.” Aubree’s elves stay at her home longer than other children’s elves because they know she loves Christmas so much! They stay until she goes back to school, and then they fly back to the North Pole until they return on Sleigh Day the following year. When they leave, the elves always give her a special parting gift with a card, to make sure she always has special memories of that Christmas season.

It was not bright or full, but it was there, almost as heavy as her heart. Realizing her clenched fists, she understood the rainbow was her own creation, a manifestation of her inner light, a symbol of hope and exhaustion. Amazed at her power to create light, colors, a rainbow with her thoughts, a small smile formed on her lips. Letting the curtain fall, she sat on the bed, her mind full of thoughts, wondering if other people’s brains held such wonders.
