Medicine tasted bitter, but it brought relief. Back at the house, Rosie was given a warm crate, soft food, and quiet care. Over the weeks, Rosie began to heal. Her breathing eased, and her strength returned. The woman sang softly to her, and the man would talk about how they’d needed something to care for.
