But on opening night, when the musical was about to start, the main character, the main singer, was nowhere to be found. The king and queen were there to watch! The theatre would be asked to close its doors if such a disaster happened! So the princess decided to step up, and help the theatre to keep making art, and paying its members. She sang beautifully! The queen and kind were shocked that she was part of the play but they didn’t say anything or her identity would be revealed, and they cried on how beautiful her voice was.

On a small kibbutz in Southern Israel lives a six-year-old boy named Avi. Every day after school, Avi and his friends play soccer on a large field. Next to the field, a factory is being built. He then performed a captivating magic trick with his hands, leaving Avi mesmerized. Avi noticed that the man spoke Hebrew, just as he did, but with a different accent. He also had a first name he hadn’t heard before. Avi wondered about this nice new stranger as he walked home with his soccer ball cradled beneath his arms. That evening, as his family shared dinner around the table, Avi asked his dad about the man. “aba, I met Omar today. He’s so nice. He has a funny accent and a funny name and can do magic tricks! In a magical forest, where trees whispered secrets and streams giggled, lived Patrick the Unicorn. He loved to explore and make new friends. Ms. Dennis tells the children find something they have in common, and asks them to bring an item that symbolizes the holidays they celebrate. When the children return, Avery brought a red, a blue, and a gold candle Avery's family celebrates Human Light, the candles represent, reason, compassion & hope. Jordan brings a Kinara his family celebrates Kwanzaa they light the candles to symbolize their community. Taylor brings a star from his Christmas tree. He explains that he celebrates Christmas and that the star is a reminder of the North Star the wise men followed to find Jesus. Mako brings a Bodi tree with lights. Mako's her family celebrates Bodi day, the day when the Buddha achieved enlightenment the lights on the tree represent the path to enlightenment. Alex brings a Menorah, Alex's family celebrates Hannukah, and the candles symbolize light's triumph over dark. River brings in a crown made of holly candles sticking out of it. her family celebrates Winter Solstice & the return of the sun. Ms. Dennis says all their celebrations revolve around light and the symbol of the Unitarian Universalist Church is a flaming chalice, each of the children have a light inside of them. River suggests they sing "This little light of mine" for the winter concert. Everyone agrees.
