Jade reminded John Jr that Jesus is trustworthy. They read John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." This statement confirms Jesus' faithfulness of His nature: He is reliable, 3. John Jr and Jade want to model Jesus by being more trustworthy. Jesus said to Receive His gift of salvation by trusting Him as Savior. Then you will experience peace with God.

Fran and Jim go to the beach. Fran’s parents and Jim’s parents are there. Fran, Jim and both of their parents are from the Turks and Caicos Islands. Fran takes off her slippers and feels the sand between her toes. Jim runs towards the sea; he couldn’t wait to get into the water. Don’t you want to go swimming with me?”. Fran looked a little sad and said “I want to go swimming but I don’t know how. I am afraid.” Jim tells Fran, “don’t be afraid, I have something that can help you to learn how to swim. Come with me.” Jim then runs towards his parents and shouts to his mother, “mommy, can you please give me the arm floats?”. Jim’s mother took out the arm floats from her beach bag, and gave them to Jim. Jim gave one to Fran and said “here, blow that float up and I will blow this one up”. Fran and Jim each blew up one arm float. Then Jim said “Now slide these up your arms. I will help you. They will help you to float in the water.” After the floats were on her little upper arms, she held out her arms and started to walk towards the water with Jim. Jim went into the water up to his knees first. Jim then turned and reached out his hand to Fran and said “come in the water with me”. Fran held his hand and walked into the water with him. As Fran went further into the water, she then exclaimed to Jim “I can’t feel the bottom with my feet anymore!”. Jim then laughed and said, “that’s because you are floating”. Then Fran realized that the arm floats were helping her to float. She then laughed and shouted to her parents saying “Mommy, Daddy, I am floating!”. Her parents waved to her smiling and Jim’s parents were also smiling. Fran and Jim then had fun laughing and playing in the water together, while both of their parents looked on, smiling. Fran and Jim had the best beach day ever.

Mako says she does not know that song because she does not celebrate Christmas. The other children ask Mako to just sit out. Ms. Dennis tells them no, they are not going to exclude someone. Ms. Dennis tells the children find something they have in common, and asks them to bring an item that symbolizes the holidays they celebrate. When the children return, Avery brought a red, a blue, and a gold candle Avery's family celebrates Human Light, the candles represent, reason, compassion & hope. Jordan brings a Kinara his family celebrates Kwanzaa they light the candles to symbolize their community. Taylor brings a star from his Christmas tree. He explains that he celebrates Christmas and that the star is a reminder of the North Star the wise men followed to find Jesus. Mako brings a Bodi tree with lights. Mako's her family celebrates Bodi day, the day when the Buddha achieved enlightenment the lights on the tree represent the path to enlightenment. Alex brings a Menorah, Alex's family celebrates Hannukah, and the candles symbolize light's triumph over dark. River brings in a crown made of holly candles sticking out of it. her family celebrates Winter Solstice & the return of the sun. Ms. Dennis says all their celebrations revolve around light and the symbol of the Unitarian Universalist Church is a flaming chalice, each of the children have a light inside of them. River suggests they sing "This little light of mine" for the winter concert. Everyone agrees.

Whiskers the Cat stretched languidly. Today was his birthday! He awoke extra early, hoping for a surprise. But the kitchen was quiet. Mama Cat was busy humming a tuneless song, and Papa Cat was already snoring softly by the fireplace. Little sister, Pip, was engrossed in a game of peek-a-boo with her favorite stuffed mouse. Whiskers sighed. He ate his breakfast alone, a bowl of slightly burnt salmon. At school, his friends greeted him with their usual cheerful hellos, but no birthday wishes. Even his teacher, Mrs. Whiskers, seemed preoccupied with lesson plans. Whiskers felt a little pang of disappointment. It wasn't the birthday celebration he'd imagined. He trudged home, his little cat heart a bit heavy. He opened the door, expecting the same quiet house. Instead… A roar of "Surprise!" erupted! His friends and family jumped out from behind the furniture, all holding a giant, tuna-flavored cake decorated with sparkling candles and tiny gummy fish. Mama Cat, Papa Cat, and Pip were beaming, and even Mrs. Whiskers peeked in from the doorway, waving a small gift bag. Whiskers's eyes widened. "You remembered!" he whispered, his voice choked with happy tears. Mama Cat chuckled. "Of course, we remembered, sleepyhead! We just wanted to make it a really special surprise. We planned this all along!" Papa Cat winked. "We even managed to keep it a secret from your little sister—that was the hardest part!" That night, surrounded by the warmth of his family and friends, Whiskers blew out his candles, making a wish for lots more secret surprises and many more happy birthdays. It turned out to be the best surprise birthday ever!

This is Peddy, and she is excited for her first day of school. Peddy kissed her mom and dad goodbye and walked out the door. As she happily sang, she made sure to walk on the side of the road where she could see approaching vehicles. On her way, Peddy saw Ian using his phone while walking and gasped, "Oh no!" She quickly approached Ian and said, "Good morning, Ian! Don’t use your phone while walking; it’s dangerous." Ian quickly put his phone away. "Oh, hi! Thank you for telling me, Peddy. Come on, let’s walk together!" As they continued walking, Peddy noticed white lines painted across the road. "Ian, we should walk on the pedestrian lane. Pedestrian lanes are designed to help us cross the road safely." They were about to cross when Peddy saw a traffic light ahead with three different colors. She stopped at the sidewalk. Ian looked at Peddy in confusion. "Why did you stop, Peddy? Come on! There are no cars anymore; we can cross the road." Peddy shook her head. "No, Ian. The traffic light is green, which means vehicles can go. Red means stop, and yellow means slow down." Ian then noticed the pedestrian signal. "Does the hand palm sign mean we should wait and not cross yet?" Peddy nodded. "Yes! And look, now the walking man signal has lit up. That means we can cross safely. That’s a pedestrian signal!" Ian was about to step forward, but Peddy stopped him again. "Before crossing, we should always follow the Stop, Look, and Listen rule. Stop before stepping onto the road. Look for approaching vehicles. Sometimes you can’t see them, so listen carefully for any nearby cars. If it’s all clear, then we can cross." Ian nodded, understanding the safety rules. Finally, Peddy and Ian walked across the pedestrian lane safely. They greeted the school guard happily, feeling secure and ready for their first day of school.
